While the authors of GPOPS have written many archival journal articles over the years on pseudospectral methods, it is often extremely difficult to learn pseudospectral methods from journal articles. In order to assist users in gaining a better understanding of pseudospectral methods, the link provided below is a tutorial on optimal control theory and pseudospectral methods. The tutorial in the PDF file below is provided free of charge and may be used for education and training in any situation that the user not gain financially from the use of the material. As with the journal articles, it is hoped that the material below is useful to those who are interested in gaining a better understanding of pseudospectral methods in optimal control.
