License Agreement for GPOPS-II

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY
BEFORE PROCEEDING TO DOWNLOAD GPOPS-II

This page constitutes the official license for the General-Purpose Pseudospectral Optimal Control Software (hereafter referred to as “GPOPS-II”). By downloading, using, modifying, or distributing GPOPS-II you are agreeing to all of the terms and conditions described in this license. Do not proceed with the download of GPOPS-II if you do not agree with any of the terms and conditions in this agreement.

License Agreement for Academic and Government Use of GPOPS-II

If you are either a student or employee at an academic institution (that is, K-12 or degree-granting higher-learning institution), an employee of the U.S. Federal Government, U.S. State Government, or U.S. Local Government, GPOPS-II is available free-of-charge for non-commercial (academic or government) use provided you are using it for non-commercial research and development. This free-of-charge non-commercial use license comes with the following rules:

  • You may use the software for any non-commercial purpose
  • You may not make derivative works of the software (called a “Derived Work”) for any use other than personal academic or government use
  • You may not distribute GPOPS-II or any Derived Work you make
  • You must leave all existing copyright notices, warranty disclaimers, and license terms in place in any changes that you make

Any use GPOPS-II by a commercial institution requires the payment of a fee regardless of the type of work being performed at the commercial institution (for example, if a commercial institution is using GPOPS-II even for work on a Government contract, a commercial licensing fee applies). Please see the fee structure below if you would like a commercial license of GPOPS-II.

License Agreement for Not-for-Profit or Commercial Institution Use of GPOPS-II

If you are employed by either a not-for-profit or commercial institution, the download and use of GPOPS-II requires a licensing fee. The not-for-profit and commercial licensing fees for GPOPS-II along with instructions for payment via credit card can be found at http://www.gpops.org/Purchase/Purchase.html. The not-for-profit and commercial licensing rules include all of the rules for an academic/government license along with the following additional rules:

  • Not-for-profit or commercial use is limited to in-house use of GPOPS-II
  • GPOPS-II may not be redistributed outside of the institution for which the license has been granted.
  • You must leave all existing copyright notices, warranty disclaimers, and license terms in place in any changes that you make
  • You may not add any restrictions beyond that of this license agreement in any Derived Work
  • You must provide assurance that you will not make a profit of any kind from the distribution or re-distribution of GPOPS-II
